Description

This orthopedic teaching session is hosted by a collaboration between FARC and Orthopedic Research UK, under the moderation of Ruth, head of education. The session focuses on total knee replacement, presented by Mr. Mahalakshmi Mavela, who is a consultant orthopedic surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Ramsay Rivers Hospital. Mr. Mavela brings extensive experience, specializing in lower limb joint arthroplasty and has been involved with educational initiatives for over a decade.

The presentation aims to clarify difficult concepts surrounding total knee replacements and is designed to be interactive, encouraging questions and discussions among participants. It starts by addressing fundamental terminologies and concepts necessary for successful knee surgeries.

Participants are encouraged to engage actively by asking questions through the chat feature, which allows them to seek clarification on various orthopedic topics and surgical techniques discussed during the session. The session includes case discussions and practical applications in a supportive environment, emphasizing the importance of understanding anatomy, surgical techniques, and post-operative management in the context of knee replacements.
